Google is the most commonly used Search Engine given to us by an American Company. We use Google every day for almost everything whether it is to search the world information, including web pages, blogs, images, or just how to spell a word or updates of our favorite film star. Nowadays everyone uses google be it a student or an entrepreneur, etc. Google influences businesses too, it helps to grow businesses by Google My Business (GMB). It is a free tool for businesses to manage their online presence across Google. Google provides many services like Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Gmail, etc. 

As we discussed earlier, Google is very important in today’s era and posses a large number of professional technicians with a very strong system. But even after being a strong search engine sometimes Google shutdowns or face technical faults. How? When Google Services outages, it causes popular platforms like Gmail, Google Doc, Google Drive, etc., to be temporarily unavailable. This type of service outage in Google impacts a far greater part of the audience around the world. Google provides many services from Gmail to Entertainment options like YouTube and YouTube Music. When the services of google outages it brings a big problem in everyday life. 

Google Services outage

Last time, Google services including Google Drive, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google Slides, suffered disruption across the globe on 14th December 2020. It affected many countries across the globe including India. The services were restored nearly after 45 minutes. The Company explained that Google’s automated storage quota management system was the major cause behind the global outage. 

What is the impact of Google Service Outage?

Google is a big platform that offers many services, it has a vast number of users. When this outage happened, many businesses had to stop their work. In this Covid-19 situation, many businesses depend upon online platforms. This kind of service outage can shut the business for a period of time and impact a huge loss to them. It began questioning Google whether its backend infrastructure is strong enough. Companies that depend on Google for their backend services will be worried about the impact of such outages. On December 14, Gmail users were in shock after the services outage. 

Later, Google apologized for the inconvenience caused to the users and improved its system to prevent such scenarios in the future. It said,

We would like to apologize for the scope of impact that this incident had on our customers and their businesses. We take any incident that affects the availability and reliability of our customers extremely seriously, particularly incidents which span multiple regions.”
